Sea Turtle
The Sea Turtles have once again had a fantastic week! We continued talking about animals and on Monday focused on the fuzzy ones. We read “Curious George at the Zoo”, a touch and feel book, that allowed the children to experience what different animals feel like. They also created fuzzy bunnies as their arts and crafts project that day. We also read “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” by Eric Carle which helped the children differentiate different types of animals as well as colors. We reviewed our letters with the help of “Max’s A,B,C’s” by Rosemary Wells, and decorated the first letters in our names with stickers, which helps to build finger dexterity as they peel and place the stickers on the paper. Some of the Sea Turtles art will be displayed on the front art board throughout July and this week you can see the 4th of July fireworks they made, inspired by the upcoming holiday! Other arts and crafts projects included finger painting and painting paper plates to make masks. Our cooking project on Thursday was sugar cookies. The children had a lot of fun making them, and even more fun eating them! In the gross motor room we sat in a circle and practiced rolling a ball to one another, and we pretended to swim in the ball pit. In the family living room we pretended to build toys at the workshop with our tools, and simulated cooking various foods at our play kitchen. Thanks again everyone for another great week! I am excited to see everyone again on Tuesday!

Penguin
Hello and welcome back! In class this week we talked about the color green. We made a green frog puppet, made dots with green paint, free colored, and made sponge prints of fireworks for the front Creativity Happens board! We had a cooking project and we made sugar cookies! The children are still reviewing their letters, shapes, words, sorting by color, and body parts. We had a lot of fun in the gross motor room making music, and rowing in our boat while singing, “row, row, row, your boat!” Everyone loves that boat! The Penguins also had a lot of fun on the playground! It was a much cooler week, so we enjoyed looking at the trees, birds, and the sky. Everyone in class had fallen in love with the toy push cars and truck in our family living room. They all go up and down the floor pushing and making the car sounds. We had a wonderful week, enjoy your three day weekend, and happy 4th!

Starfish
The Starfish and I have haa fun filled week all about animals. We learned all bunnies, zebra’s, loins and frogs. For math we counted how many pom pom’s we needed to cover out fuzzy bunnies, and counted the stripes on our zebra’s. For art this week we made fuzzy bunnies, striped zebra’s, loin masks, and frogs. We talked about where the animals live and what they eat. We also roared like loins, and hopped like frogs. Water day was so much fun. Bike was a blast. The starfish’s favorite two favorite days. For cooking project this week we made rice crispy treats, yummy. We had a birthday party for Matthew. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATTHEW! Have a safe and fun Fourth of July, see you on Tuesday.

Dolphin
This week, the Dolphin Class would like to welcome you to the jungle! We have been learning all about the animals. We talked about the zebra, frogs, monkeys, and panda bears! We had a great time learning interesting facts about these animals! This week in art, we have been working on our copying skills. I made an animal as an example and we put our together following the example. Please check the hallway for our art projects! In math, we talked about addition, subtraction, more, and less, and played shape and number bingo! Thank you to everyone for helping with the treasure box, baby wipes, and freeze pops. We greatly appreciate all of your donations. We would like to welcome Emma, Kelan, Ava, and Gabrielle to the class! Have a great holiday weekend, and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday!

Walrus
We had a wonderful week in the Walrus Class! The students did a great job during our charades game and making their animal sounds! I was so impressed that everyone knew their birthday months and dates! A day at the beach was our cooking project. We had vanilla yogurt as our ocean, crushed up vanilla wafers for our sand, and colored sprinkles for our school of fish! The students continued to practice their scissor and cutting skills by cutting strips of paper to make the stripes on our zebras! They look so good; please check them out in the hallway! It was very important for us to review the three parts of a story (beginning, middle, and end) because we wrote our own story later in the week about Freddie the Frog! This is our story…
One Sunday morning, Freddie woke up late. Freddie was going to Bunny’s house. Freddie and Bunny Logan went to find a bear cave. When they got to the bear cave, they dug for a mouse! Freddie found a frog and poured water in his face and he fell in to the pond. Freddie found a big black bear. Freddie started to collect food for the winter. Freddie came home to chop up grapes for the panda bear. Freddie made food for breakfast. Freddie invited his friends over for a party!
THE END
It was a cooler week this week, which was perfect for Bike Day but a little on the chilly side for Sprinkler Day. All of it was great fun and we hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! See everyone on Tuesday!
