Weekly Activities:

It has been very sweet around here this week with all the Valentines parties this week. Thank you to all the parents who signed the teacher cards and donated to the luncheon and brought in delicious cookies. We enjoyed a Chinese lunch treat. We are looking forward to the Potluck dinner tonight along with some games and raffle items as well.

Otters and Sea Turtles: Thank you for the extra sweet stuff! Valentines was fun for all. We have been busy adding new options to our play this week we have been working with new balls and rolls on the big mats we are especially working on throwing and catching with our new balls of all shapes and sizes.

Starfish: We have had a BIG week with all the Valentines fun, our kids have been sweet on the treats, thanks for the donations. We are continuing to talk about the sun and we have been working on the letter X this week. We have had some success stories for the potty training this week and we will keep up the good work. Remember to keep an extra change of clothes in your cubbies. Welcome to our new friend Skye, she is fitting in very nicely. Please bring in a box of tissues to replenish our supply.

Seals and Dolphins: We have been busy learning all about the letter X this week. We made yarn X's and crazy X hats on crazy hat day. We have been talking about how the power of the sun helps plants grow and also helps melt the snow. For our science project we put lima beans in a baggie and hung them in our windows, we are anxiously waiting for them to grow. We had a lot of fun exchanging Valentines cards and having a fun party on Valentines Day. Thank you for sending in all the treats! We are talking about the importance of good listening ears. Welcome to our new friend Blake in the Dolphin class.

Pre-K (Octopus and Walrus): The Pre-K classes celebrated Valentine's Day with parties, holiday songs and meaningful card exchange. We learned about how our ears work for hearing, and we practiced and developed our listening skills through fun listening games. "Who Said That" is a favorite. We made the silliest of hats for silly hat day, and we wore them proudly on the playground. We loved our letter of the week, "X marks the spot"! We made Treasure maps with X's and everyone found a surprise. As a reminder we are in need of tissues, please bring in a box to replenish our spring supply.
